53rd SHOOT TIME AT MANISTEE

June 23 - 24, 2012

Dear Fellow Muzzleloader,

The Manistee Clan Muzzle Loading Club invites you and your family to attend the best muzzle loading shoot in the country, the 53rd Annual SHOOT TIME AT MANISTEE Rendezvous, an event to remember and a tradition to keep. Mark your calendar for this year's event which will be held June 23 - 24, 2012 at OLD FORT RENDEZVOUS on Camp Road, south of Manistee. There will be a military match held for the early campers on Friday, June 22. This match is held separate, in conjunction with Shoot Time, with a $5 entry fee with shooting awards immediately following the match. Bring any type of military gun in "as-issued condition," along with 50 rounds of ammunition.

We strive to treat each guest shooter and camper to a weekend of relaxed, low pressure shooting and camping enjoyment.  We bring you a shoot with clay breakable targets which are visible with each hit, and provide your palate with the best in hot food served during the shoot.  For those who want to cook over a campfire, wood is available.

Remember to bring all of your guns. We have matches for muzzle loading rifle, pistol, rifled musket and smoothbore, black powder single shot rifles and modern military guns. Pack 'em all and have a ball at the 53rd Shoot Time at Manistee Rendezvous.

Our shoot is set up with this idea in mind; no matter how hard you try, you are not going to participate in all the shooting events.  This gives everyone an even chance to win an event...we relieve the pressure on the main range by having a woods walk (sign up for a time slot).  Slack time can be taken up at the tomahawk range or visiting the traders who come to sell their goods.  We have a playground for the children.

On Saturday evening after the last shot has been fired, our Chef will serve a hot dinner to please your appetite.  When dusk sets in, there is an award ceremony followed by the 49th annual ceremonial meeting of the Northwest Council around the campfire.  When darkness sets in, the camp comes alive with music and dancing under the roof of the pavilion till the wee hours.

Sunday morning the roar of the cannon will wake the camp followed by a hot breakfast served by our Chef.  We have a Sunday program to give you a half-day of shooting fun, church service for those who wish to attend and plenty of time left to break camp and head back to your home.

For your personal convenience we have showers and flush toilets in the pavilion.

Where in the world can you have two days of shooting and camping enjoyment for only $30.00?  Pack your bags and come to the 53rd SHOOT TIME AT MANISTEE Rendezvous, and enjoy a memorable weekend of shooting and camping.  DON'T MISS IT!!

For more information, please contact our Secretary, Harry Foster, at 231-723-9016 after 6:00 p.m.  For our non-camping shooters, we have several motels within four miles of our camp and can assist with your reservations.

Best regards,

Ira Thumma & Tom Cherry
